Experience

Backend Engineer Intern | Robinhood May 2022-Present

I worked on the Options Platform team and collaborated very closely with stakeholders to make improvements to a platform frequently used day-to-day. I used Python, Django, React, Kubernetes, and Docker!

Teaching Assistant | The Global Teaching Project September 2021-Present

I teach computer science principles and expose students in Mississippi to the software engineering industry. Here, I hope to inspire and facilitate a great learning environment. I decided to get involved with the program as I align heavily with the mission - I wish I had something similar to this growing up with my limited resources.

Software Development Engineer Intern | Workday May 2021-August 2021

I interned on the Service and Tenant Management Team. I learned and used Redux, Redux, and TypeScript to develop a dashboard for a supervision service for Workday users. I also spearheaded the design of the JSON response schema and continued to update it along UI decisions with personal and external feedback from multiple teams and users.

Research Intern | University of Pennsylvania April 2021-August 2021

I researched with 2 professors from the Computer Science department in a team of 5 to explore anomaly detection in social networks, especially ones that may be represented as directed hypergraphs. I used Python extensively for data science related tasks and visualizations.

Backend Developer Fellow | Menon Labs March 2021-May 2021

I was accepted as a fellow out of a 3% pool of roughly 2880 applicants and collaborated in a team of 5 as a backend developer for Plant Jammer.

Teaching Assistant | ESAP July 2020-August 2020

I served as a TA for an intensive summer engineering academy at Penn for a network science course. I held daily office hour sessions for 40 students and helped with social networks and graph theory concepts, MATLAB coding, and homework guidance.

Full Stack Developer / Software Engineer Intern | Lab-U June 2020-August 2020

I worked at a biotech startup focused on providing disease test kits. I was one in a team of 3 software engineers/full stack developers under the supervision of a scrum master in an Agile environment. I used Ruby on Rails to develop the web applications for the company and used MySQL to store data.

Head Teaching Assistant | CIS 110 June 2020-Present

I am working as a teaching assistant for an introductory Java programming course at Penn with a roster of roughly 350 students. I hold weekly office hour sessions and help students with computer science concepts, debugging, and homework assignments. I now help develop the course infrastructure with the professors and assist in hiring and managing the entire course staff of TAs.

JavaScript Coding Instructor | Fife-Penn CS Academy February 2020-September 2020

I was a coding instructor for schools around Philly for an academic initiative that strives to make a computer science education more accessible to all students. I taught students how to code in JavaScript and explained the fundamentals of computer science.

Executive Board Member | FLITE September 2019-September 2020

I was an early board member for First-Generation Low-Income in Technology and Engineering. As a FGLI student myself, I wanted to take part in uplifting the community that I felt most aligned with.

Executive Board Member | CSS September 2019-May 2020

I served on the board for an organization at Penn that aims to build a community for computer science undergraduates socially and professionally. I helped plan events in the most financially sound way while also optimizing impact.

Computational Researcher | GSS September 2018-May 2019

I was one of few scholar recipients for Governor's STEM Scholars and became a computational researcher at New Jersey City University. My project focused on finding correlations/relations between computational chemical methods.
